It would not be Christmas without my Aunt Dottie’s Monkey Bread. The only question is who is going to be the first to sneak a bite before the meal is served. Most likely suspect… Paul!
Aunt Dottie’s Famous Monkey Bread
Ingredients
- 4 cans jumbo refrig. biscuits (or 6 cans reg. size)
- 3/4 cup sugar
- 1t. cinnamon
Syrup
- 1 cup light brown sugar
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1/2 t cinnamon
Spray bundt pan with cooking spray. Cut biscuits in pieces and shake in a bag with sugar and cinnamon. Put pieces in bundt pan.
Bring syrup to boil so it thickens a bit – stir well and pour over biscuits in pan. Bake at 350 for 50 min. or so. Put a cookie sheet under it when it is cooking in case the syrup bubbles over. Don’t overstuff pan with biscuit pieces – just to top. If they start to cook too much on the top, put a piece of foil over it for the last few minutes of baking.
Let it sit for a couple of minutes before you flip it.
Enjoy!
