Strawberry & Chocolate “Carrot Garden Patch”

Strawberry & Chocolate “Carrot Garden Patch”

Are you looking for an adorable and delicious garden-themed dessert for this Easter? I have you covered. Chocolate and Strawberries are a classic combination but this playful version is perfect for making, and eating, with the kids. You can make one big garden and let people scoop, or you can do individual servings in mini terra-cotta pots or cups.

Ingredients

For the “Carrots” (Strawberries in Orange Chocolate):

• 1 lb fresh strawberries (with stems if possible)

• 12 oz white chocolate chips or melting wafers

• Orange gel or oil-based food coloring (water-based can seize the chocolate)

• Optional: green candy melts or green icing (for little carrot “tops”)

For the “Garden Soil”:

• 1 package (3.9 oz) instant chocolate pudding mix

• 2 cups cold milk

• 1 package of Oreos (regular), crushed into crumbs

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Chocolate Pudding

1. In a medium mixing bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes.

2. Let it sit for 5 minutes to thicken.

3. Spread the pudding evenly in the bottom of a serving dish (a shallow tray or casserole dish works great).

Step 2: Crush the Oreos

1. Place Oreos in a zip-top bag and crush with a rolling pin or pulse in a food processor until they resemble soil.

2. Sprinkle the crushed Oreos over the pudding to create your “dirt.”

Step 3: Make the Carrot Strawberries

1. Rinse and dry strawberries very well(moisture will mess with the chocolate).

2. Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20–30 second intervals, stirring between each until smooth.

3. Add orange gel food coloring and mix until fully orange.

4. Hold each strawberry by the stem (or stick a toothpick in the top if stemless) and dip into the orange chocolate, letting the excess drip off.

5. Optional: Drizzle extra orange chocolate over the dipped strawberries with a fork or piping bag for a striped “carrot” texture.

6. Place dipped strawberries on parchment or wax paper to set.

Step 4: Assemble the Garden

1. Once the chocolate is fully set on the strawberries, gently press them into the Oreo “dirt” so they look like carrots poking out of the soil.

2. Optional: Add tiny green candy leaves, green icing, or edible grass at the tops for carrot “leaves.”

Tips & Presentation Ideas

• Use a terra cotta pot or mini flowerpots for individual servings!

• Add gummy worms in the dirt for extra fun.

• Stick a cute little sign like “Carrot Patch” or “Fresh from the Garden” for a finishing touch.
