Smoked Salmon Bagel Dip

Smoked Salmon Bagel Dip

Smoked salmon is one of those great foods that can be served anytime of day. It also happens to be something my children love that does not involve bread and cheese. I came across this particular recipe while searching for a make-ahead hors d’oeuvre. I was hopeful it would be delicious and wow, it did not disappoint. We have served it for several cocktail gatherings and many family breakfasts, in which we topped the dip on scrambled eggs and toast.

This recipe is from the The Baker Mama.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces Whole Milk Ricotta
  • 8 ounces Cream Cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • Smoked Salmon/lox, chopped
  • 1/2 tsp Everything Bagel seasoning
  • 1 tbsp Capers
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest (1/2 of a large lemon)
  • 1 tbsp Fresh Dill, chopped
  • Bagel Chips, Cucumber Slices
  • Garnish: Lemon Wedges, Dill, Sliced Red Onion

In a food processor, blend the ricotta, cream cheese, lemon juice and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Spread the whipped cheese onto a platter and top with smoked salmon, capers, onion, lemon zest, fresh dill, and Everything Bagel seasoning. Enjoy with Bagel Crisp and or cucumbers. Also enjoy on scrambled eggs for a delicious brunch!
