I started this blog back in 2011 when I was moving from Michigan to Florida…for a one year trial. Well, as I mentioned, that was back in 2011 and I’m not only still in Florida, but also have since lived in Boston with my husband (who I met in FL). So my life has taken on a whole new dimension since I boarded that Delta southbound flight nine years ago. I’m still rooted from my life back home in Michigan, but my world has expanded, and so have I. But back to the blog. I started the blog to have a place for my friends, The DIVAs (Diving Into Vino Again – see Where it All Began), so we could continue sharing recipes even though we were many miles apart. Over the years though, the site has become solely my creative outlet. The DIVAs are the heart and what inspired this blog… my love for cooking, entertaining, and celebrating life with friends. But like my own life journey, the blog has transitioned as well. As such, I’ve gone soul (and belly) searching to figure out what exactly this blog is to me, and how I’m adding value to your world by sharing mine?
So that leads me to the changing of the blog’s identity. I welcome you to, ‘A Party in My Pantry’! My husband is the creative-mind behind the new, clever name. We both agreed that it captures an essence of my entertaining style – while sophisticated, approachable with a spirited edge. Not to mention, this current Covid-world of home quarantining has definitely shifted us all to stock-piling our pantry & creating fun within the home! Celebrating life’s joys at mealtime with family & friends is one of my favorite pastimes. I relish both my time in the kitchen and good food… I’m always hungry… and thirsty for a glass of wine. But cooking is about more than eating. Having a dinner party is about more than feeding people in your home. They are an art – a display of thoughtful care & love, all while setting an authentic tone of joy.
Good eats, raising a glass and celebrating everyday is what this blog is all about. I want to share my passion with you through my recipes, images & stories. My hope is to inspire you to add more merriment & flavor to your life. So embrace the creativity of your inner host and join me for A Party in My Pantry!
